Born and raised in Topeka KS, Jasper Shrake has been involved in music for as long as he can remember. His musical successes began in college, where he held leadership positions in nearly every major ensemble at Washburn University. In 2018, graduated with a Bachelor’s in Music Education and a Bachelor’s of Music in Performance with emphasis in classical and jazz trumpet.

In 2015, Jasper won an audition to play 4th trumpet in the 1898 Big Band at the National Convention for Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, backing jazz greats Wayne Bergeron and Gordon Goodwin. Other notable musicians Jasper has performed with include Roger Ingram, Rob Scheps, Byron Stripling, and Jim O'Connor.

Jasper maintains a healthy career performing in Topeka and Lawrence with his quartet, and aims to be a positive example and advocate for the opportunities music can provide for students regardless of their background or circumstances.
